The Introduction to Jet Propulsion (ITJP) course is intended for entry-level marine technicians and those new to jet propulsion. ITJP covers an overview of topics like boating basics, materials, common parts, tools, electrical, fuel and intake systems, lubrication, engines, jet pumps, cooling and exhaust systems, hull and deck components, corrosion, and accessories. The course is divided into two web-based training modules and an online Final exam.

Introduction to Outboard Systems (ITOS) offers fundamental content on boating basics and the latest outboard technology. The program includes a textbook and supplemental online curriculum. While following the textbook, participants work through labs and test their knowledge with quizzes. The ten online modules serve as knowledge checks to help reinforce the training. Modules include subjects such as: • Outboard electrical • Fuel systems • Propellers • Rigging

The Yamaha Maintenance Certification Program (MCP) certifies students to perform 1,000-hour service on Yamaha outboards through advanced, hands-on lab curriculum. The program is offered on four engine-platforms: Four Engine Modules: • Portable Engines • Inline Engines • Mid-Range Engines • V6 Engines Completing all four modules is equivalent to Yamaha’s two-week Marine Service Skills course offered to our dealer network. MCP-certified students are job-ready and bring immediate value to Yamaha marine dealership service departments.
